Few artists possess the ability to enchant their audience. Isabella Lundgren does this with an incredible presence and a voice that seems to hold a lifetime.
Now Sweden’s most interesting jazz singer is releasing a new album:
Look for the silver lining, an album with timeless songs from the American songbook.

It’s a record of grief and hope. About the uncertainty and suffering that a human life contains, but with a confidence in human kindness.

”He who has a why to live, can bare almost any how”, wrote the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche.
I have stood in a lot of
hows that were so painful I wondered if I would ever make it to the other side.
But I did, every time.
Even though I have stood dangerously close to gaping abyss, like so many before me.
For humanity is a resilient species, which can rise from the ashes and turn the ugly into something beautiful.

Isabella, Dec 2020, Stockholm

Look for the silver lining contains classics such as “Smile”, “The Folks that live on the Hills”, and “Fly me to the moon”. The timeless songs are given new life in the hands of Isabella and Carl Bagge (piano), Niklas Fernqvist (bass), Daniel Fredriksson (drums) and Daniel Migdal’s string quartet.

Lock for the silver lining will be released on March 26 via NAXOS/Ladybird.
